This privacy policy explains how personal data is processed when you visit lei24.eu or contact us through it. It is provided in line with the EU General Data Protection Regulation (Regulation (EU) 2016/679, “GDPR”) and the German Federal Data Protection Act (BDSG).
The LEI application and account services at platform.lei24.eu have their own privacy notice, which you will find there.

2. What data we process and why
2.1 Visiting the website
When you open our website, the web server automatically records technical data: IP address, date and time of the request, the page requested, referrer URL, browser type and operating system. We use this data to deliver the website, keep it secure and detect misuse. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in operating a secure website (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). Server logs are deleted after no more than 30 days unless they are needed to investigate a security incident.
2.2 Contact form and e-mail
If you contact us through the contact form or by e-mail, we process your name, e-mail address, company name, LEI code (if provided) and the content of your message to answer your enquiry. The legal basis is your consent and, where your enquiry relates to a contract or a planned contract, the performance of that contract (Art. 6(1)(a) and (b) GDPR). We keep enquiries for up to 24 months after the conversation has ended, unless a longer retention period is required by law.
2.3 Links to the LEI24 platform
Buttons such as “Get your LEI” take you to our platform, where you can apply for, renew or transfer an LEI. Data entered there is processed under the platform’s privacy notice.
3. Cookies
This website only uses cookies that are strictly necessary for it to work. We do not use analytics, advertising or tracking cookies. If this changes, we will ask for your consent first and update this policy.
4. Recipients
We share personal data only where necessary, with:
- our hosting and e-mail service providers, who process data on our behalf under data processing agreements;
- authorities, courts or advisers, where we are legally required to do so or need to defend legal claims.
We do not sell personal data.
5. Transfers outside the EU/EEA
We aim to process data within the EU/EEA. If a service provider processes data outside the EU/EEA, we make sure an adequate level of protection is in place, for example an adequacy decision of the European Commission or standard contractual clauses.
6. Your rights
Under the GDPR you have the right to:
- access the personal data we hold about you;
- have inaccurate data corrected;
- have your data erased, where there is no legal reason for us to keep it;
- restrict or object to processing based on our legitimate interests;
- receive your data in a portable format;
- withdraw your consent at any time, without affecting processing carried out before the withdrawal.
To exercise any of these rights, e-mail us at info@lei24.com. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority. You can contact the authority in the EU country where you live or work, or the authority responsible for us: the State Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information of North Rhine-Westphalia (LDI NRW, ldi.nrw.de).
7. Security
The website is served over an encrypted HTTPS connection. We use appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect personal data against loss, misuse and unauthorised access.
8. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy when our services or legal requirements change. The current version is always available on this page, with the date of the last update shown at the top.
